Toon Hermans Theater

Sittard-Geleen's city theatre, the Toon Hermans Theater, is rich in atmosphere, highly attended, and always has something exciting on, from cabaret to music to theatrical performances. The Stadsschouwburg keeps surprising its audiences with a never-ending series of international, national, and regional top acts every season. At the entrance stands the statue of Sittard's most famous son, performing artist Toon Hermans, ever waiting to greet the next audience.

For fifty years, the Toon Hermans Theater has been the flashpoint of culture and audiences from the entire region; a place where stars shine and viewers bask in their glow, where artists amaze, move, startle, and engage audiences with theatre, music, dance, and other arts of the stage.

Forum Sittard

Forum has just reopened its doors after reinventing itself – no longer a cinema, but a multifunctional cultural space. It is now back like never before, and a better forum than ever for today's music, theatre, dance, and comedy performances, as well as a wonderful place for private or company parties, presentations, diploma ceremonies, weddings, brunches, coffee meetings, and so on. Forum Sittard presents every kind of stage art, including theatre, comedy, cabaret, orchestra, band, and vocal and choir music.

Theater Karroessel

Theater Karroessel is a small, cosy theatre that seats 69, with programmes for all ages: music from classical to rock, cabaret, adult and youth theatre, poetry, and more. For the most part, the performers are from the region, but are just as likely to be seen on stages elsewhere in the country. The Muziekkarroessel and youth theatre programmes have become something of a tradition, but these are just two highlights of the approximately 50 performances per theatre season.

Laaglandtheater

The theatre group Het Laagland encourages children to discover who they are, what they can do and what they want to achieve. With play, stories, and imagination, the group brings to life tales about everyone's desires, fears, and courage in growing up and finding their place in the world, where they can be who they are.

Laagland produces national touring shows for large, medium, and small auditoriums. Around Limburg, Laagland presents school projects for primary or secondary school, either in the theatre or in the classroom. In addition to producing national touring shows and school presentations in the region, Laagland also develops small projects for performance on location.

Pitboel Theater

Since its founding in 1989, the Pitboel Theater has produced a great many original productions taking audiences around the Dutch-speaking world. Hundreds of children, young people and adults have been introduced to the theatre by courses at the Pitboel Theater School. An inspiring place where people can discover the magic of the theatre; it's far and away the leading theatre school in the region for children, young people, and adults. Activities, workshops, and room rentals are also among Pitboel's offerings.
